I had been to a couple of adventure camps such as OBS Singapore but field camp was nothing compared to them. Field camp pushed my boundaries and made me realized my true physical and mental capabilities. At first, it was very difficult to think about how we, as a company, would be able to make it through field camp. It was very clear to me that the basha building on the first day was very taxing on everyone of us, including me. But I was surprised at how I managed to push on and even help my other platoon mates when my morale and energy was running low. It was all in the matter of choice and I am very glad that I chose to remain optimistic and that we would pull through by building our bashas on the hardest soil filled with tree roots. Our self-esteem was further destroyed by heat exhaution and the chicken pox outbreak. With many of our platoon mates getting affected by those viruses, I was elated to see how the others managed to drag there feet to other's unfinished shell scrape and finished it. Field camp did not just test us on our physical abilities but our mental too. To push aside those tiredness and laziness to create space for sacrifice and energy to let others get that little rest to recharge their own. I believe that our platoon had done well in this field camp and I am truly glad to have played a part in it.
